About Paving, Sealing & Resurfacing Services We Provide
We are proud to supply a range of paving services within Ashburn. Here is a brief rundown of the services that we can supply.
Asphalt Driveway
It is the perfect material for driveways! It give a wonderful, clean looking finish which, when allied to it’s long lasting durability, provides a superb material for driveway construction.
Due to it’s excellent, easy lay nature blacktop can be installed in just about any shape, making it ideal for use in odd shaped driveways, or if you want to install your driveway around an obstruction, such a tree or flowerbed design.
Parking Lot
It's also a superb material for use in commercial installations such as parking lots for stores and business.
For one thing, it is an exceptionally quick drying material, meaning that is ideal to use of you don’t want your parking lot out of action for days on end, inconveniencing your staff and customers.
It is also a very easy material to paint on, so that parking bays, lines and other signage can be very easily added after drying.
Paving
Bitumen makes a great surface for paving too, which some people find surprising! The assumption is that asphalt is mainly for heavy duty installations such as parking lots and driveways, however nothing could be further from the truth.
It can be used to create a very attractive, not to mention hard-wearing, pathway in a variety of settings, both domestic and commercial.
If you struggle with frozen pathways in the winter, then it could be a particularly effective material for you. The commercially available grist and slats that many of us put down in the winter to keep ice and snow form building up on our pathways can cause serious damage to concrete. Asphalt on the other hand is immune to damage from salts and grits, making it an ideal winter path material.

Sealcoating
If you want to keep your pavement looking great, then sealcoating is a must. Asphalt is a petroleum based product – that’s why it’s so easy to pour and spread, and also why it looks so fresh and shiny when it is newly installed.
However, the chemicals in the blacktop that give its great appearance can be vulnerable to damage. This can occur over time by exposure to hot sunshine in summer and to adverse weather conditions such as sleet and snow in the wintertime.
Sealcoating is a simple process whereby a chemical is sprayed onto the surface of the blacktop and allowed to dry naturally. After drying, it forms a protective layer over the surface, protecting it from damage. If you’ve ever seen pavement that is gray and cracking, then you have seen a patch, that has not been sealcoated!
How often you need to perform this procedure will vary on several elements, such as the typical local weather, amount of use on the asphalt surface, etc. Therefore it’s a great idea to book a sealcoating session with us so we firstly protect your surface, and then secondly advise you how to keep it protected.
Repair, Including Potholes
Yes, it's a pretty tough material. But even a tough material like asphalt will need the occasional bit of maintenance and some general repairs.
Unlike concrete, blacktop is actually a pretty easy material to repair. We carry a range of repair materials that often can simply be injected into any cracks for a quick and easy repair. We are also of course available to provide repairs for you, it you want the reassurance of allowing a professional to handle it.
Sometime it can be nest to let the professionals handle repairs, as poorly repaired or, even worse, un-repaired cracks in asphalt can lead to serious problems.
We’re talking potholes here.
A pot hole occurs when water is allowed to seep into a crack. Eventually, it will find it’s way through the sub layers all the way to the base, which it will start to erode. Once the base crumbles away, the sub layers and asphalt on top collapses inwards, and you are left with a pot hole.
We can of course repair most pot holes – but it is a far more involved task than simply repairing a crack proving that, once again, prevention is better than cure!

Resurfacing
This is a very popular and cost effective method for repairing older pavement. In particular, resurfacing is very effective method of repairing old blacktop that, whilst still in good condition is perhaps not so attractive to look at anymore – for example, if you’ve inherited some at a new home you’ve just moved into.
With resurfacing, we will clean and patch the old asphalt, before pouring over a special blend, mixed to contain bonding agents to allow it to dry over the old stuff. It is therefore a far cheaper – but just as effective way – to get a newly paved driveway, parking lot or path installed to replace an old one.
If you are interested in any of the above services or simply want more information then feel free to step into our offices, or give us a call!
