About Paving, Sealing & Resurfacing Services We Provide
In our time providing asphalt products and services here in Fairfax, we often find that our customers initially contact us with one or two of the same questions regarding us and the products that we supply.
Now, we love to hear from you, don’t worry about that! But at the same time, we thought it might be helpful to put down the answers to some of the most popular questions that we get asked.
So if you too have any queries about asphalt in general or about the products and services that we supply right here in Fairfax, then please read on!
Can I use Asphalt for a Driveway?
The better question would be why would you not use asphalt for your driveway? Compared to concrete, the other most popular material in driveway construction, asphalt has several distinct advantages.
It pours faster and dries faster, meaning that you get a usable driveway that can be walked and parked on in a far shorter construction window. Asphalt is also far cheaper to install too, and with just a little very straight forward maintenance, will provide an outstanding and highly durable surface that will provide you with years and years out service.
How about a path?
Of course!
Many people think that asphalt is only designed for using in applications involving vehicles, such as roads, parking lots and driveways. Given the durability of asphalt that is a perfectly reasonable assumption – but it’s also an incorrect one!
The truth is, asphalt is an excellent product to use for pathways and other paving style installations. It provides an excellent non-slip surface and also does not react to commercial salts (unlike concrete), meaning that it is easy to maintain an ice and snow free walkway even in the depths of winter.
I own commercial property – what can asphalt do for me?
Asphalt is an especially good material for use in parking lots, so if you own commercial property and are looking to upgrade or install a parking lot then asphalt could be right for you!
As we discussed above, you can achieve several advantages by choosing to build your parking lot out of asphalt. Remember when we said asphalt was cheaper than concrete? Well, take that cost saving and multiple it by the square footage of material required to build something like a parking lot – that is quite a saving already!
Add to this the far shorter construction window with asphalt, and you are then able to minimize disruption both to your customers and, by extension, to your business itself.

Should I sealcoat my asphalt?
We strongly recommend that if you want your asphalt to continue looking it’s best then you consider a sealcoating service.
With sealcoating, a special chemical is sprayed over the surface of your asphalt. After drying, it forms a strong but completely invisible barrier that protects your asphalt from damage from weather extremes and, most importantly, UV rays present in sunlight.
Without sealcoating you may notice that over time the natural, deep black finish that is the trademark of asphalt begins to disappear. Your asphalt will take on a more gray color overall, and may be liable to cracking. This is a result of the natural oils present in asphalt being dried out and evaporated by the sun.
Seal coating will help to prevent this and to greatly extend the lifespan of your asphalt – so please don’t hesitate to contact us about this service!
Do you repair damaged asphalt? How about Potholes?
We offer a comprehensive repair service and we can tackle near enough any level of asphalt damage, from small cracks right the way up to potholes.
In fact, potholes usually start as small cracks in the asphalt surface. These cracks allow moisture to penetrate and eventually damage the asphalt through its layers, eventually leading to a collapse and a pothole to form.
Therefore it is never too early to call us in to tackle any repair jobs – big or small!

Is there an alternative to ripping out old, cracked asphalt?
Luckily, yes there is!
We offer a resurfacing service that is perfectly designed to breathe new life into an old patch of asphalt. Basically, we will pour a special, adhesive laced asphalt product right over the existing asphalt.
As it dries, it will adhere and bond to the surface of the previous asphalt installation. After drying you will be left with a surface just as good as a brand new asphalt installation. With resurfacing however, you will have this outstanding finish at a fraction of the cost and time required to rip out and completely renew your pre-existing asphalt.
We really hope that you have found the answer to your queries above. If you didn’t, or if you did but the answer was too brief or even if you have a while other lot of questions then please don’t hesitate to contact us!
Our friendly staff are standing by, ready to assist you.
