About Paving, Sealing & Resurfacing Services We Provide
Over the many years we have supplied asphalt services to the good people of Leesburg, we find that the same questions come up time and time again!
To help you understand just what great material it actually is, and to better explain the services we offer, here is a quick guide to some of the most frequently asked questions that we receive.
Is Asphalt suitable for Driveways?
Absolutely! In fact, we’re not sure if it was invented for driveways – or if they were invented for it!
It definitely provides a long lasting, beautiful driveway surface that will be an asset to any home or business. Maintenance is generally low and easy to perform and with just a little effort every now and then you can have a driveway surface that will look great for a very long time.
It’s also an extremely cost effective material when compared to other driveway construction materials, such as concrete.
How about a Parking Lot?
For the same reasons that blacktop is perfect for driveways also makes it a great material for use in commercial applications, such as a parking lot. A fresh asphalt parking lot will give your business a vibrant, welcoming appearance.
What’s more, as a business owner you know as well as anyone that building works can seriously affect your custom. This is particularly true of your parking lot – after all, if your customers can’t park near you then may take their business elsewhere.
It is a quick drying material. It will harden and be ready for use within days of being laid down, making it ideal for quick turnaround building projects such as parking lots.
And Paving too?
Yes, and paving too!
Some people have the impression that bitumen is only to be used in heavy-duty applications – such as driveways, parking lots and road surfaces. Nothing could be further from the truth however, as asphalt also makes an excellent material to use in paving and pathways.
In a commercial setting, it is easily painted on, meaning you can quickly put down markers, directions or lines.
At home, it's not damaged by commercial salts used to de-ice frosty paths (unlike concrete, which is damaged). You can make your paved pathway safe to walk on all year round therefore, without any worries of damage.

What is Sealcoating?
If you’ve never heard of seal coating, it is the primary method of maintaining your pavement once it is laid. Basically, sealcoating is a process whereby a quick drying chemical is sprayed onto the surface. After drying, it forms a protective barrier that helps to protect the asphalt from damage caused by the hot sun in summer and adverse weather conditions in the winter.
We carry a full and comprehensive range of sealcoating chemicals and application tools, allowing us to provide comprehensive sealcoating services whether performed by the homeowner or by professionals.
What if my Pavement needs Repairs?
Blacktop repairs are, broadly speaking, few and far between – what with asphalt being such a tough, long lasting material.
That being said, it’s an unfortunate fact of life that nothing lasts forever and therefore repairs may well be required every now and then.
Unlike concrete, bitumen is a very easy material to repair and often all a crack needs will be an application of sealant to fill the crack itself and prevent any moisture attacking the sub layers and the base.
We carry a full range of home repair materials, and we are also available to hire to tackle more complicated repair jobs. Speaking of which…
Can you fix my Potholes?
Yes! Or at the very least, we’ll do our best!
A pothole forms when a crack in the surface is left unrepaired. Over time, moisture from rainwater or melting snow will gradually seep through the various layers of the pavement until it finds the base, laid during installation.
A pothole occurs when this water causes the base to be compromised, eventually breaking down, crumbling and collapsing in on itself.
We can repair these unsightly, sometimes dangerous holes by removing the compromised, damaged material, replacing with fresh base and sub layers and finally sealing it all again with a fresh asphalt patch.
